The register will be done once all are outside to ensure everyone is accounted for. In the event that we could not re-enter the mobile crèche attempts will then be made to contact all parents/ carers in order to collect their children. It is therefore essential that the mobile crèche is kept constantly informed about all the parents’ whereabouts in order to contact them in an emergency.

Missing Child Policy
In the unlikely event that it is observed that a child is missing from the mobile crèche, the manager or person in charge will be informed immediately. Upon this observation, the manager will first check to see if the child has been signed out and if so by whom. In the event that the child has not been signed out a search of the mobile crèche and its surrounding area will take place immediately. If the child(ren) is still not located then a wider search will be made before calling in the police. Staff will be asked to recall events of any situation, which might have arisen, that would have given the child the opportunity to leave. Whilst the search will continue, the child’s parents / carers will be informed. On arrival, a discussion as to the next course of action will take place.

Drinking and Smoking Policy

The same applies to all drugs other than those prescribed by a doctor and considered appropriate for intake while working with children.

Accident Policy and Procedure
Minor Accidents
If a minor accident occurs the following procedure occurs:
v The child is taken into a quiet area whereby the staff member dealing with the accident assesses the injury. If necessary the mobile crèche manager is called.
v The injury is then treated.

Major Accidents
The procedure for a major accident is as follows:
